The government has put in RM 20 million to build Malaysia's first-ever AI study center at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
During his speech on the 2024 budget, Anwar stressed the importance of focusing on education discipline and making huge advancements in AI technology.
" So Malaysia needs to quickly face the global digital transformation boom. Innovation and digital talent need to be empowered. In particular artificial intelligence (AI) to increase more sustainable economic growth."
"In order to intensify the exploration of cross-disciplinary AI, I am happy to announce the country's First Artificial Intelligence Center. It is the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at UTM with an initial allocation of 20 million ringgit." Anwar Ibrahim
