THE MEMALI INCIDENT'S PLOT TWIST.

" Honestly, I will not forgive Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (Prime Minister at the time of the Memali incident)." Ibrahim's widow,  January 10, 2018, Berita Harian.

What occurred in the Memali Tragedy ?

The plot took an unexpected turn when a PAS Leader challenged the statement made by former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, questioning his claim that the tragic event of 1985, which painfully claimed the lives 14 innocent civilians and four courageous policemen, was instigated by the controversial "Amanat Haji Hadi".

According to Datuk Muhamad Yusuf Husin, the chairman of the Kedah Pas special committee on Memali, the White Paper on Memali that was published in 1968 during Dr Mahathir's tenure as the head of the government made claims that were not in line with the true cause of the incident. It is now believed that the incident was actually sparked by opposition to the Internal Security Act (ISA). Cite : Memali tragedy: 'It was caused by anti-I.S.A. sentiment'

"We did not have any firearms as alleged in the White Paper, and we had nothing to do with any radical movement in southern Thailand whatsoever."

"We were just a bunch of villagers and rubber tappers who were defending our religious teacher from being detained under the ISA." (Datuk Muhamad Yusuf Husin)

Yusuf, one of the many civilians who were held captive during the incident, said that most of the 'stuff' in the White Paper was made up and twisted in order to make Ibrahim and his crew look bad

He confidently stated that numerous retired police officer who were implicated in the Memali tragedy had displayed eagerness to clarify the incident by providing testimony during the proposed RCI.

In addition, he mentioned that the retired officers were eager to provide testimony at the RCI if the government decides to establish one, in response to the appeals made by the families of the victims.

On 27 March 2014, at the Renaissance Hotel in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Tun Musa Hitam stated that Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad was in Kuala Lumpur, not China, during the Memali tragedy.

WHAT fate befell the bereaved spouse of Ibrahim Mahmud?

"IT was the darkest day of my life when i lost my husband in the tragic incident but it is even more painful as i have been carrying the burden to fight for justice in clearing his name. " Ibrahim's widow, January 11, 2018, NST

Thus spoke Soleha Husin, the resilient widow of Ibrahim Mahmud, the revered spiritual orator fondly referred to as Ibrahim Libya.

Still, with unwavering faith, she fervently hoped for the long-awaited realization of her prayers - the establishment of a Majestic Court of inquisition (MCI) to delve into the enigmatic events that had occurred at Memali in the distant year of 1985.

At one point, she found herself compelled to acknowledge her husband's designation as an apostle, while also acknowledging her affiliation with unorthodox principles of Ibrahim Libya.

False information was reportedly attempted to be planted in Solehah Husain's mind while she was detained under the ISA act for two months and seven days.

" NO APOLOGY FOR MAHATHIR "

MEMALI INCIDENT USED AGAINST HADI ONCE HE SIGNED MAHATHIR PROCLAMATION.

The 1985 incident, in which 18 lives were tragically lost, is being exploited on social media as a means to criticize PAS and its president, Abdul Hadi Awang.

This development occurred subsequent to Hadi and other prominent leaders of PAS endorsing a proclamation supporting the Malay community, which is being advocated by Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

MAHATHIR NOW SUPPORTS PAS ?

On July 23, the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim portrayed Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as a desperate faction compelled to showcase themselves within the Perikatan Nasional (PN) domain.

Anwar asserted that in the past, Mahathir portrayed himself as the embodiment of cruelty towards PAS, the sacred religious schools, and the victims of the Memali Incident.

"He is a desperate person and there are no other options for him to relay on, Mahathir used to be very harsh towards PAS, religious schools, and the victims of the Memali incident. However, he is now receiving support."

What exactly is Mahathir's true stance? What lies at the heart of the matter is the intriguing nature of his mastermind strategy. The true inquiry lies in unraveling the depths of his ingenious scheme.
