The survivors of Morocco's most devastating earthquake in over sixty decades faced challenges in locating sustenance, clean water, and accommodation. Meanwhile, the 'hunt' for the missing individuals continued in isolated villages, and there were fears that the death toll, which had already surpassed 2, 100, could increase even more.

Malaysia's Foreign Minister, Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir, plans to communicate with Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, in order to obtain the most recent updates regarding the earthquake that struck Morocco on Friday. Furthermore, intends to extend the appropriate kind of aid as needed.
Zambry also reached out to the Malaysian Ambassador in Morocco, Datuk Astanah Abdul Aziz, for updates on the incident.

"He informed me that until now, there are no reports involving Malaysians. All the Malaysians who have been contacted so far are safe," Zambry, September 10, 2023, Malaymail.
According to sources from Morocco, most houses in the village are unlivable. Many have fallen and the remaining ones are highly unstable. Some buildings appear to be unfolded, lacking entire walls and revealing the remains inside.
The earthquake happened at approximately 11.11 p.m. in the evening, according to the local (6.11 p.m. as per ET).
